Leadership in Action 003

An acquaintance on another platform (Twitter) asked why I was always posting quotes from others, rather than posting some of the things that I teach in my own classroom.  I honestly had to think about it for a few minutes.  Then it dawned on me, I wasn’t using my own quotes, my own education, and my own experiences, because I didn’t want to appear arrogant.  Yet, at the same time, I have studied and applied leadership theory for over 20 years in my personal life, and I have taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership for the past decade.  Certainly, I must have something to say on the subject?  After some further thought, I realized, yes… the reason that I started studying leadership was because of my personal belief in a lack of real leadership in our nation, and in the past 20 years I have been able to apply what I have learned both in the classroom, and in the business world, to challenge old, tired ideas and to advance a vision of a better world for all of us.

Leadership in Action 001

The ability to develop long-term, beneficial relationships is key to any leader who hopes to achieve his/her vision.  Good leaders understand that “1 is too small a number to achieve lasting success.”  As leaders, we must surround ourselves with people of good quality.  Then lean on those whose expertise exceeds our own.  To be successful, you must develop a core team of trusted friends, with a shared vision, then execute that vision with the full support of your team.

More Liberal/Progressive/Democrat Hypocrisy in Nevada?

I love it when an Ultra-Liberal Newspaper like the Mercury News (and dozens of others) attempt to school all of us on family values.  I love it when Liberals discuss values and then immediately turn around and attempt to defend the Clintons and Obamas with great gusto. They also defend policies, regulations, and laws that do nothing for the people, but further the progressive agenda that will ultimately result in complete split between the elite class, and the plebian servants.

Let’s get something straight… There is no such thing as Liberal/Progressive/Democrat Values. This group as a whole, practices a form of “Moral Ambivalence” or Moral Relativism.” In other words, “What’s good for you, is good for you, and what is good for me, is good for me.” Liberals have NO Values and NO Moral Absolutes. So, for the ULTRA LIBERAL Mercury News to write such a slanted report just cracks me up.

Dennis Hof is NOT a pimp. He is the owner of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch which is a legal, state licensed, brothel in Nevada. He is also an author, university lecturer, and reality TV Star. He is a business man and follows all the rules, regulations, and laws of the state of Nevada and provides a service. The women who work at the Bunny Ranch work of their own free will, can leave at any time, are paid EXTRAORDINARY WAGES, have full benefits, and are also licensed by the State. Had Dennis Hof run as a Democrat, He would be hailed as a CHAMPION of women’s rights and for allowing women full rights to “Use their bodies as they see fit.”

Mr. Hof decide to run for office for many of the same reasons as President Trump. HE CAN’T BE BOUGHT.  Mr. Hof has made enough money, been successful across many different businesses, and amassed a degree of wealth that shields him from the slings and arrows of lobbyists and donators.  I have personally never been to the Bunny Ranch, and at my age, I probably will never go. But Mr. Hof is running a very responsible and legal business. However, I do hope that President Trump comes to Nevada and helps campaign and fund-raise for Dennis Hof. If for no other reason than to continue to expose the Liberal/Progressive/Democrat HYPOCRISY in America.

What does your logo say about you?

Whether you are developing your personal brand, or your company brand, your Logo will send a strong message to both your clients and your competitors.  For those of you that have studied persuasion, there are 3 types:  Ethos, The Ethical Appeal; Pathos, The Emotional (think passionate) Appeal; and Logos, the Logical Appeal. Your logo should embrace one or more of these forms of persuasion.  Additionally, most long-standing Logos are relatively simple.  Think about Google, McDonald’s, Dell, Coca-Cola, Apple, Target, and dozens of others.  All easily recognizable and identified with a specific brand. Our logo hearkens back to the 1984 presidential campaign of Ronald Reagan, “It’s Morning in America.” The golden sun, rising above the mountains signaling a start of a new day, and new opportunities.

Please let me know what you think.  I appreciate all feedback.

Arivitas Strategies’ Mission

A Mission Statement is a public declaration of how you, your firm, or organization are going to achieve the Organizational Vision.  If your firm doesn’t have a clear Vision of the future, and a Mission Statement to achieve the Vision, then it’s time to take a step back and reassess your reasons for being in business.  A company without a clear direction and purpose is akin to driving a car on Interstate 10, heading east at 80 miles an hour, looking for a beautiful sunset.  While you are making a lot of progress, you are heading the wrong direction, and will never achieve your goals.
